Wildlings: A Nature Exploration Group

Welcome to Wildlings!

We are a heart-led, all-ages nature exploration group where families adventure together. This is not a drop-off program, but instead this is about connecting with the wild world and one another.

Designed for families with children of all ages, Wildlings offers space to slow down, splash in creeks, follow trails, build fairy houses, climb logs, gather wildflowers, and let curiosity lead the way. Each gathering is guided by the seasons and rooted in a respect for nature, play, and connection.

Whether you have a toddler just learning to toddle or a teen ready to help lead the way, there's room for you here. We believe childhood (and parenthood) is meant to be messy, magical, and full of wonder ... and wild spaces offer the perfect opportunities to remember that.

Come explore, play, and grow wild with us.

Frequently Asked Questions

When and where do you meet?

We currently meet at 11am every other Monday utilizing public nature spaces in the Springfield, MO area. I rotate in order to vary both location experiences for the kids, and limit families from having to drive the farthest each time.

This group doesn’t have a cost associated?

No, since this group is merely a way for homeschooling families to meet, connect, build friendships (kids and adults!), enjoy nature, and support one another we’re all in this together! Everyone stays, supervises their own kiddos, and just enjoys being with community… so there’s no associated costs.

Do you have a calendar of upcoming events?

We do, but it’s kept within our private Facebook group. I do not post our calendar publicly for the safety of our families.

How do we join?

Fill out the form below, and I’ll contact you with the date, location, and any needed information for our next meet. Once we meet, in person, I will add you to our private Facebook group.

What should we bring to an event?

Generally, I recommend lunch/snacks, plenty of water, towels and a change of clothes (just incase, for the ride home). I also add any other recommendations to each events details… if we’re at the creek you may want beach chairs, water toys, towels, sunscreen, etc… or if we’re hitting the trails you may want bug spray, walking sticks, etc. Either way, I always recommend checking the group and event before heading out.

How do you handle canceled meets?

If we need to cancel for any reason (like severe weather, for example) I post on our Bramble Bird Meadow Facebook page, within the group, within the event, and send a private message to anyone RSVP’d for the day. Hopefully Facebook plays nice and one of those finds its way to you.

Have additional questions or just want to chat? Feel free to contact me by email at cassandra@bramblebirdmeadow.com or via message from our Bramble Bird Meadow Facebook page. I’m always happy to talk.

I look forward to meeting you and your family soon, and wish you all the very best adventures.
