Offerings For Kids and Families

Wildlings
Meets every other Monday from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
(All Ages, No Drop Off Options)
Wildlings, though known by many different names over the years, is where this whole community first began.
These are whole-family adventures into nature! Together we explore, learn, play, and build lasting friendships while enjoying the beautiful natural spaces throughout our area.
During the cooler months (fall through spring), we gather to hike, wander woodland trails, observe the changing seasons, and follow the curiosity that nature inspires as we explore local parks and natural areas.
When Missouri's heat settles in (late spring through early fall), we trade the trails for natural waterways, where we can stay cool while discovering a completely different side of our state's wild beauty. From creeks and rivers to springs and swimming holes, each adventure offers new opportunities for exploration, play, and connection with the natural world.
Whether you're turning over rocks to discover tiny creatures, identifying wildflowers, splashing through a creek, or simply enjoying the company of other nature-loving families, Wildlings is about slowing down, embracing curiosity, and creating meaningful memories together outdoors.

Nestlings
Meets the last Monday of the month
11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
(All Ages, No Drop Off Options)
Nestlings is a family-centered book club designed to nurture a love of literature, thoughtful conversation, and meaningful community.
Throughout the school year, we'll journey through carefully selected books together, gathering each month to discuss the story, explore its themes and characters, ask thought-provoking questions, and enjoy hands-on activities inspired by our reading.
Meetings are intentionally kept small to encourage genuine discussion and create a welcoming environment where every child feels comfortable participating. Families are encouraged to read together at their own pace before each gathering.
While donations toward activity supplies are always appreciated, they are never required.
Currently Reading: “Echo Mountain” by Lauren Wolk
Note: Parents / Guardians should review book choices in regards to appropriateness for their reader(s).
Please register using the link below or on the main BrambleBirdMeadow.com page before attending so we can ensure we have enough supplies prepared for every family.

Junior Herbalists
Meets Fridays
10am - 12pm (with optional included add-on of Meadowlings below) at Wild Arts Learning Studio
(Middle & High School, Drop Off Options Available)
Junior Herbalists is an immersive, hands-on program for middle and high school students who are ready to dive deeper into the world of herbalism.
Together we'll study medicinal plants, herbal actions and energetics, botany, anatomy and physiology, ethical foraging, wildcrafting, formulation, and herbal safety while building confidence through practical experience.
Students create a wide variety of herbal preparations throughout the year, including teas, tinctures, infused oils, salves, syrups, oxymels, glycerites, and more.
Rather than simply memorizing herbs, students will learn how to think like herbalists—developing observation skills, writing herbal monographs, understanding how herbs work within the body, and learning to formulate with intention and safety.
This is a collaborative, discussion-based class designed for students who enjoy science, nature, and hands-on learning. Previous completion of a class (or instructor approval) is required to ensure students have the foundational knowledge needed for this course.
Space is limited to maintain a supportive learning environment and provide individualized guidance throughout the year.

Meadowlings is a nature-based enrichment program where children are invited to slow down, observe the world around them, and discover the wonder woven throughout creation.
Each week, students explore a new topic through a blend of nature study, herbal education, science, art, literature, and hands-on experiences. Our days may include nature journaling, botanical studies, guided hikes, folk traditions, seasonal crafts, herbal preparations, experiments, storytelling, and creative projects that encourage curiosity and meaningful connections with the natural world.
Rooted in gentle, experiential learning, Meadowlings emphasizes observation over memorization and encourages children to ask questions, think critically, and build confidence through exploration. Whether identifying wild plants, learning the history of herbalism, studying ecosystems, or creating with natural materials, each class is designed to foster a lifelong appreciation for nature and a deeper understanding of the world around us.
Meadowlings welcomes curious learners who thrive in an engaging, hands-on environment where learning is an adventure and community flourishes alongside knowledge.

Cassandra Miller Founder, Clinical Herbalist and Lead Instructor
With over 20 years of teaching experience and clinical herbal training through respected programs including Herbal Academy, Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine, and School of Evolutionary Herbalism, I bring a holistic and heart-centered approach to education.
My classes blend botany, foraging, herbal studies, storytelling, creativity, and practical life skills into meaningful experiences that inspire curiosity and confidence.
A Note From Cassie
Hey there, and welcome!
This space was originally created because I saw a need for places where children could show up exactly as they are… not just included, but truly accepted, supported, and celebrated. They deserve safe spaces to run, play, learn, grow, and follow their own paths… building friendships on their own terms while also being encouraged to try new things and spread their wings.
As the years have passed, I’ve realized that making genuine, lasting friendships as adults can be just as difficult. So can finding spaces where we are free to keep learning, ask questions, and explore the things that spark our curiosity. From that realization, our adult learning circle was born... and from there came classes, workshops, collaborations, and an incredible community that continues to grow.
So why a nature-based community?
Outside of motherhood and homeschooling my littles, I’m also a clinically trained herbalist. My journey began with a deep love for the natural world in childhood and grew even stronger after becoming a mother. I felt called toward a slower, more intentional path… one rooted in care, healing, stewardship, and reciprocity with the Earth.
Since then, I’ve spent years studying through certification programs, mentorships, workshops, retreats, local and online herbalist roundtables, and countless hours of hands-on practice. One of the beautiful things about herbalism (or life really) is that there is always more to learn and always another perspective to listen to.
I also recognize the privilege I've had to pursue a full herbal education while staying home with my children, and I know that opportunity isn't available to everyone. Because of that, one of my greatest goals is to make nature and herbal education as accessible as possible. Whether that's through free community groups, affordable classes, scholarships, sliding-scale pricing, or deeper mentorship opportunities, I want to meet individuals and families where they are.
That being said… If cost is ever a concern, please don't hesitate to reach out. 𝙎𝙡𝙞𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜-𝙨𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙚 𝙤𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙖𝙫𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚. 💕💕
More than anything, this community is built on 𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙩𝙮, 𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙮, 𝙖𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙥𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙙𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨. It's about embracing our shared humanity, growing alongside one another, and creating something meaningful… not only for our children, but for ourselves as well.
No matter where you come from, what your experience is, or where you are on your journey...
𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲.
And I 𝘢𝘮 so very, very glad you're here. 🥰
